1m Nagorno-Karabakh refugees seek world support

Baku International Humanitarian Forum while raising humanitarian causes of peace, dialogue, tolerance and development called for building realistic frames in the world for fulfilling such values for mankind.

A Baku Declaration adopted on the conclusion of the conference appealed to analyse the achievements of possibilities of multi-culturalism as a part of governmental policy of different countries to ensure a free choice of culture and ethnic identity, to defend the direct rights and freedom of a human being, resolutely condemn all manifestations of racism and intolerance and use technological development for economic development.

Former Presidents of different states, Nobel laureates, UN representatives, educationists, mediamen, scientists and elites from all over the world attended the Forum.

Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan opening the Forum said dialogue, tolerance, peace and development must be promoted in the world and his country will support all international moves in this direction.

Referring to the humanitarian issue of Nagorno-Karabakh where one million refugees are waiting to get their basic rights, he said this is a humanitarian issue which is looking for international attention for justice and fair play. The world powers and UN have supported his government on this issue, he said.

Multi-culturalism has no alternative and human values and intellectuals ideas should be pushed through to turn the world into an abode of peace and tolerance, he said.

Azerbaijan is at a cross road of civilizations. His government is following a policy of dialogue and peace and tolerance which has yielded positive results. As a member of international bodies, his country will follow policies for progress of mankind in the fields of health, education and science. “Black gold to be converted into human gold” in his country,” he said.

He said technological advancement must be used for addressing humanitarian issues being confronted by the mankind.

Azerbaijan situated on the borders of Asia and Europe is emerging as a power in south Caucasus which is commonly known in Pakistan as Koh-Kaaf. There is a lot of goodwill for Pakistan in this country as Pakistan was always in the forefront to support the position taken by Baku on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh against Armenia.
