Russia to support Baku's bid to host Summer Olympics

The statement came from the Russian Olympic Committee executive director Marat Bariyev.
According to him, the Russian Olympic Committee is working closely with Azerbaijani colleagues and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Minister on the nomination of the republic to host the Olympics.
Bariyev stressed that Russia has the experience of participation in these marathons. "We are open for tips and advice, and are ready to help Baku to get the right to host the Olympics. As a neighboring country, we are interested in this", he said.
According to Bariyev, Baku has a good chance to get the right to host the Olympic Games. "As a sport center and dynamically growing economic sector, Baku is attracting the attention of many. It is simply necessary to work more actively and to show oneself," said the executive director of the National Olympic Committee of Russia.
Baku is approved as a candidate for hosting the Summer Olympics in 2020, vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade told Trend.
The International Olympic Committee is to declare the city to host the 2020 Olympic Games in Argentine capital city on 7 September 2013.
The National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan nominated Baku for hosting Summer Olympic Games of 2016, but Rio de Janeiro was declared the host.
